Indian Summer in Vancouver: July 7-16
For ten days each July, the Indian Summer Festival in Vancouver brings together artists, thinkers, musicians, poets, writers, actors, filmmakers, celebrity chefs and more from Canada, India, the South Asia region and beyond for a series of multi-disciplinary events. Blues music festival in Ottawa: July 7-17
Heading to Ottawa this July?  You might want to check out the RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest, featuring hundreds of performances showcasing a wide variety of world-class musicians from Canada and around the world.


Calgary Stampede: July 8-17
Held every July in Calgary, the ten-day Calgary Stampede, billed as the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,” attracts over one million visitors per year and features the world's largest rodeo, a parade, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuckwagon racing, exhibition of First Nations (Aboriginal) traditions and culture, an international pavilion featuring music, culture and food from Canada’s diverse ethnic communities and other events and competitions for amateurs and aficionados.  


Edmonton International Street Performers Festival: July 8-17
If you are in or around Edmonton this July, be sure to catch an international cast of jugglers, acrobats, hip hop dancers, sword-swallowers, musicians, clowns, and more performing in downtown Edmonton’s Sir Winston Churchill Square at the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival. Events are open to all, voluntary donations accepted.


Just for Laughs festival - Montreal: July 13 to August 1
Just for Laughs (French: Juste pour rire), founded in 1983, is a comedy festival held each July in Montreal, Québec. The world’s largest international comedy festival has showcased many popular comedians including Jim Carrey, Jon Stewart and Tim Allen. Its popular sister show, “Just For Laughs Gags,” a silent comedy/hidden camera reality television show, currently airs on Indian television channels Zee Café, Zee Trends and Pogo.


Get a taste of British Columbia: July 14-17
Victoria’s annual festival of food and wine, Taste is a culinary tourism experience with wine tastings, food samplings from culinary artists, seminars and events. 


Catch animated films from Canada at BDL Museum, Mumbai: July 24
Join us for the 12th edition of Canadian films for kids at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai City Museum from 4pm to 5pm. This month’s screenings will feature six short family-friendly films from Canada’s National Film Board. The film screenings are free and open to all. Festival of India in Ottawa: August 5-7
The three day “Festival of India” celebrates Canada’s multicultural heritage and features  music and dance from India. The annual festival also features panel discussions on various topics by distinguished scholars, workshops ranging from yoga to Bollywood dancing, vendors offering Indian jewellery and handicrafts and a sampling of delectable cuisine from different parts of India.


Call for RFPs for Canada-India Collaborative Industrial R&D
Application Deadline: August 31
Canada and India aim to foster and support collaborative industrial research and development (R&D) and innovation projects with high potential for commercialization. The request for proposals (RFPs) is open to companies from Canada and India. Funding is available for eligible Canadian firms for up to CAD $600,000 and for Indian firms for up to INR Rs.150 lakhs. This bilateral program is managed in Canada by Global Affairs Canada, in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program, and in India by the Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA). Indian project leads may also review the GITA website for details. Applicants can also consult GITA’s online matchmaking process to find a suitable project partner.
